The Truth about Auto Insurance

I’m Going to start with Liability insurance/third party insurance, this is generally the lowest form of insurance offered by an auto insurance company. This is the basic insurance, if you are involved in an accident, and it is proved to be your fault, the auto insurance company will pay damages to the other party. The cover offered by the auto insurance company is usually set beforehand. This is the maximum amount the auto insurance company will pay in case of accident.

For example the agent will agree on a $10000 coverage per person.
You need to confirm with your auto insurance company what they will cover and what are the limits. You might be offered a very low premium by some auto insurance company only to realize that your cover is minimal and unrealistic. Auto insurance companys will also offer you a comprehensive insurance, as the name that indicates, you will be comprehensively covered. In simple terms it means that if you are responsible for a collision the insurance company will pay for the repair of the vehicle.

It is not always so simple, an auto insurance company will almost always have the final say on what amount will be paid out, so if it is cheaper to give you market value for the car, then they will. You might think that your car is worth $1000.00 but the real market value might be $500.00. This is not an uncommon scenario. So if the repair of your car are more than $500.00 then the auto insurance company will simply pay the book value of the car.You must make sure that the insurance company is not in control of the market value of the car, normally organizations like the AA will give an impartial market value.

As with the third party insurance, the auto insurance company will almost certainly limit the amount that will be paid out, but in general terms, a comprehensive insurance will have higher limits. A recreation vehicle needs its own insurance, a recreation vehicle insurance is not the same as auto insurance. You should not assume that because your car is comprehensively insured, so is your recreation vehicle. These are some more types of insurance, Medical (MedPay), Personal Injury protection (PIP), and the no fault cover. These insurances will cover you and your passengers medical expenses in the event of a collision.

The no fault cover means that the auto insurance company will pay regardless of who is at fault. This give you the piece of mind that, at the very least, your family and friends are covered. PIP is often a minimum requirement in some countries or states, ask your auto insurance company what the requirements are.Uninsured/Underinsured motorists’ coverage, this cover (also sometimes a minimum requirement in some states), will cover you if the person at fault is not insured or is underinsured. You must ask your auto insurance company what you will be charged in case of such a situation. Normally the auto insurance company should not charge you some extra premiums.

The different types of Auto Insurance Coverage you may need

There are several different types of  auto insurance coverages .I basically wrote every type so you can know what the name of the coverage is and  how it works. Having an auto insurance coverage will help you protect whenever you get in a car accident or when there is a loss to your automobile like fire and theft. You also need to be protected in case you injure another person through the use of your car or if you damage somebody’s property when using your car.

Bodily Injury Liability Coverage, this coverage is for any injuries sustained to people involved in an accident where you are at fault. This is required by law in every state. Check to see what the minimum requirements are in your state’s Property Damage Liability Coverage and find out what will pay for damages to the other person’s vehicle in an accident where you are at fault. This is also required by law in most states and plus its good to have. Personal Injury Protection or PIP will cover you, the driver, and your passengers’ expenses for injuries sustained when you are in an accident so if u have kids or married this would be a great coverage to purchase.

Uninsured/Underinsured Motorists Coverage, this will protect you in the event that you are in an accident and the person who is at fault is not insured. Comprehensive Coverage, this car insurance coverage will pay for damages to your car that are unrelated to an accident. For example, this will cover any damages due to fire, vandalism, or a tree falling on your parked car. If your car is being financed this type of coverage may be required by your lender. So u should just have it from the get go.

Collision Coverage will cover any damages to your car when you are in an accident. This type of coverage may also be required by your lender if your car is being financed.Towing and rental coverage, which pays if you have a breakdown and need to have your vehicle towed and if you need to rent a vehicle while yours is being repaired.Medical coverage, which pays the cost of treating your injuries, or those of your passengers, after an accident.

The personal auto policy can be written to a single individual like a husband or wife that live in the same house. Most auto insurance coverage are written to include all of the available coverages like the ones listed, but if you are saving money, you can choose whatever auto insurance coverage you want and opt out of the others which are not mandatory, but you don’t have too. This is just a reminder, read the fine prints since there are conditions, limitations, and exclusions all found in the auto insurance coverage world.

All you need to know about Truck Insurance

Drivers of trucks, semi’s, tractor trailers, big rigs normally don’t possess safe driving histories. It is a fact in all parts of the world, if you are driving without some form of vehicle insurance it can result in a reckless amount in fines or other punishments. So staying up to date on your vehicle insurance is one vital importance. In order to understand vehicle insurance it is important to understand what an insurance policy is and how it relates to the law. Truck insurance has a total different language.

In Truck insurance language the person who buys the policy can also be called the insured. The insured then pays a sum of money, called a premium in Truck insurance language, which ensures that the insurance company agrees to pay for certain types of loss or damages as represented in the contracts specifications. In the Truck insurance policy, there is nothing preventing unfair practices or other unfortunate instances from taking place in the industry. trucks cost more than cars, especially repairs, so naturally the insurance costs will be relative.

When a big truck or heavyweight truck is involved in an accident, the vehicle with more weight more than likely dishes out more damage on the smaller vehicles and more injuries to the passengers of those vehicles.Truck insurance rates and quotes may vary state to state or from one insurance company to another, but you can easily get many quotes from top-tier insurance companies. Some people think if you can buy the truck that has a good safety record and doesn’t attract attention from thieves then thats a good deal, but thats just what people think.

Also Another way to save on Truck insurance is by shopping online using various insurance companies.Truck accidents like I said are different  from car accidents in their limited visibility as well as the extent of damages and injuries due to a truck’s size. Areas beside and behind a commercial truck exist where the driver has limited or zero visibility. Trucks also take longer distances to stop than car vehicles do. Because these trucks tend to do greater damage in accidents than cars do, truckers must carry more insurance than other drivers to be on the safe side.

So Truck insurance is a great way to go as long as you have read this article and you should let your friends know about this reading. It is human nature to wanna know how to get something for less or to have better things than someone else even if it is insurance. So leave it up to your self and go for the most costly insurance so that you  know you are getting something good. Remember the different languages because car insurance is totally the opposite from truck insurance. Now Go out there and meet a insurance agent and let him know what your looking for.
